May Darkness Guide P4 by ~andraon:iconandraon:

Andraon went over and retrieved the four containers that contained food. He normally got only two here, he figured the must have sent extra in case Mai was still alive. The simple bowl he normally used just wouldn’t due for two people. He sighed, rather than use some of the things he had learned to dress the meal up he decided Mai should know exactly what they served him. He poured one of the containers that carried a thick tasteless vitamin broth into the bowl, set the stale crust of bread on a plate, and filled the small glass with water. Setting out the spoon and a napkin he pulled out the chair for her to sit in.

Mai took the offered chair albeit nervously.  She looked at the thick brown broth and stale bread before her. All of Andraon’s eating ware was made of wood, which she felt made sense. Andraon had move to stand on the other side of the small round table. She watched as he took a sip from another canister.

“It’s not much but it is all that the send me” he commented sincerely.

Mai stirred the spoon through the broth a couple times and finally had the courage to take a bite. It was luck warm, tasteless, and had a rather slimy texture that almost caused her to gag and spit it back out. She managed not to and swallowed the mouthful of broth. “Uhg! How can you eat this?” she asked revolted.

Andraon shrugged, “It’s all they have sent me since they put me in here. If memory serves, and it always does, it is the bare minimum requirement by the government for prisoners. What they serve us is very closely monitored; in fact it’s one of the most highly monitored things concerning all those in confinement.”

“But still, this is horrible!” she continued.

“I agree.” He concentrated and the bowl became made if fine china, the spoon silver, the glass crystal, the water a red wine, the broth a hearty stew, and the bread fresh, toasted, and buttered.

She stared in amazement, “H..How did you do that?” she cautiously took a bite of the stew and found it delicious. “Why don’t you always do thing? This taste really good.”

Andraon chuckled, “A simple trick of will. I didn’t change its health content, that is much harder to do and completely unnecessary in this case. The reason I didn’t do this from the start is I wanted you to know what they feed me.”  He didn’t bother changing his own, having grown quite use to the tasteless broth and stale bread. While he could now do many things he didn’t waste his energy of frivolous and vain endeavors most of the time. He watched as Mai tasted the bread and the wine next and found both to her liking. He smiled into his canister of broth. He had gone the extra step to make the water into real wine and not just taste like wine. He wanted so see if the alcohol would help her relax and possibly make her bolder.

Mai finished the meal and had a second glass of wine afterward. She wasn’t drunk or even buzzed but she was relaxed now, which wasn’t something she had been since a couple days ago. She watched as Andraon sent the empty canisters back to where they came from. She got up and made her way back to his sitting room.

Kilkishra was reclining on the raised part of the lounge and looked over as Mai reentered the room. She smiled at the smell of wine; Master was as fun and sneaky as ever.  She fluttered up and came over to land on Mai’s lap as the woman sat back down in the over stuffed chair.

Mai watched as the devil girl flew back over and landed on her lap, she waited for the thing to start teasing her again, she expected the girl was just exceptionally playful and a tease. She wasn’t sure what to think when Kilkishra just sat down on her leg and reclined against the side of the chair.

Andraon came back into the room and seeing his diminutive friend in Mai’s lap, picked her up and sat her on his shoulder, “That’s no way to behave with a guest you’ve just meet Kilkishra.”

“Awe Master, I want to do something more fun than talk though.” Kilkishra pouted.

“That can Wait till after our Guest leaves.” Andraon stated firmly.

“Promise?” the little demon girl prompted in the same pouting tone.

“Promise” Andraon answered honestly. “Now Miss Mai I believe we have time for two more questions before you head back out.”

"sent extra in case Mai was still alive" heh. Do you really think the wardens expected her to die?

Anyway Andraon seems to be having quite a bit of fun... ;)
